A good step-up transformer gives a low-output MC cartridge the gain it needs with no extra noise. We make stereo versions such as the 618A and 618B, a mono unit made for the Denon DL-102 (shipped to Los Angeles), and Western Electric 626A-style units. For mono collectors we can separate the windings, so one unit plays both mono LPs and stereo sources.
